This is a great device! My 3 yr. old loves it. It's tactile, but it feels like a video game. Super recommended for all ages.
This is very hard to put down once you start playing. Definitely worth the price.
So much fun
This is SUPER FUN.
It's a puzzle game where you must slide the pieces around to free the red square and move it to it's base location at the bottom center of the slide floor. The game comes with several difficulties to select from. Even within a single difficulty, the puzzles become more challenging as you progress through the levels. As of writing this review, I'm currently on level 97 on "easy" and the puzzles are pretty complicated.
This uses 2 AA batteries. It looks higher tech than it is. It's a very kid-friendly game. It lights up, but it is not a screen game. The game play is purely done through the magnetic sliding tiles. The game also has an auto-off feature after 15 minutes of inactivity. The game picks up from the level you left off on when you turn it back on.
I've played with other sliding piece puzzles - this one is way better for a multitude of reasons.
The screen eliminates the need for having cards with the game set up like all of the other slide games come with. You can't lose them because they are all built in and you don't have to sort through cards to find the next level.
The set up is really easy: Long press the red button to turn the game on; the screen will display the game set up; position your tiles and short-press the red button again to set the game and play.
The display screen pieces do not move as you slide the tiles around, it on;y shows the initial tile positions for the game set-up. If you need to reset and start over, you can just look at the screen again to see where you need to replace the tiles.
The magnets are strong enough to hold the pieces in place, but they slide extremely smoothly. This game have a very satisfying tactile response and clicking sound as they slide. I've played a version of this game with plastic cars that are not easy to slide or rearrange and it makes it frustrating to play and easy to lose interest in. The Super Slide game is excellent and really engaging. Kids and adults get a kick out of this and wants to try it out when they see it being played by someone else.
I read a review complaining that the game does not come with green tiles shown on the display screen.....that person did not read the game instructions. There are no green tiles - the green represents one of the 2-space blue tiles being places horizontally. They show on the screen as a blue marker when placed vertically. The green/blue makes setting the game up very simple with no guesswork.
I would definitely, definitely order Super Slide again. I honestly wasn't expecting this game to get much attention, but it's become a fast favorite with my kids. It's very satisfying to play and designed perfectly - I really can't think of any way they could have improved this. Great quality game.
